PATAGONIA, TORRES DEL PAINE
191 KM BY FOOT AND PACKRAFT, O'CIRCUIT AND RIO PAINE, NOV 2016
Summary
I took the classic and popular O’circuit route in Torres Del Paine and added a few days to the end of the itinerary to packraft the Rio Paine. The frontside of this loop is well equiped with food and shelter while the backside is slightly more remote. Both sides are worthy of a visit and can be done by anyone is decent shape. If you are fortunate enough to have a packraft, hike up to the mouth of Lago Paine after you finish the loop and put in at the Rio Paine, then ride the river all the way to the park entrance – be prepared to portage some serious rapids, the waterfalls and drops will literally kill you and the river moves fast! You have been warned….
