Description

The Yuka 130 is the highest performing, ultralight folding pull saw, in the lightest and most functional package for its size. This 4 ounce saw includes numerous options to ensure the final product matches your needs; whether that is color, weight, durability, performance, or cost. For example, our lightest and highest performing option is a Carbon Fiber Handle with a Silky Pocketboy 130 Saw Blade, where-as our most durable and economic option is our Aluminum Handle coupled with our Suluk46 130 Saw Blade.  Regardless of build options, this is the saw you carry when you want to process large sized wood on your backcountry trips with ease, but don’t want to carry the bulk and weight of a traditional saw.

How do I use this saw?

Please take the time to watch the video above which covers all aspects of use. The Yuka 130 is a pull saw, meaning that you should only apply downward pressure on the pull stroke. This allows the blade to be thinner, lighter, and cut more efficiently than a thicker blade. Cutting on the push stroke can bend or even break the blade.

Should I choose an aluminum or carbon fiber handle?

For the stiffest and most durable option, choose an aluminum handle. If you’re primary interest is the lightest saw possible and are willing to achieve this at the expense of durability and stiffness, than carbon fiber is the appropriate selection.

Is the Suluk46 130 Saw Blade and the Silky Pocketboy 130 Saw Blade interchangeable?

Yes, they both have matching outer profile features that allow them to fit in our handles using all the same hardware. The video has instructions on how to replace or swap the saw blades.

What is the difference between the Suluk46 130 Saw Blade and the Silky Pocketboy 130 Saw Blade?

Silky manufactures the best blades in the world, we do not dispute that, and it comes with a high price tag. The alternative Suluk46 130 Blade is custom made, very high quality, and a more economical option for our saw blade handles that still perform very well. Most people using our Yuka saws in a recreational manner will not notice the difference.

Where do I get a spare blade?

Silky Pocketboy 130 blades are commonly available, you can check your local outdoor stores. Otherwise we sell Suluk46 130 Saw Blades and Silky Pocketboy 130 Saw Blades on our website.

How do I adjust the force needed to open or close the blade?

The Yuka 130 is designed with a wave spring under the bolt assembly that holds the blade in place. This allows some adjustment of pressure that you can fine tune to your liking. If you want it to be more sturdy, simply tighten the screw. Alternatively, if you want is looser (and easier to open) simply undo the screw a small amount.

Why is the button so hard to press?

It’s actually not, however, the Yuka 130 has the swing path of the button designed to be offset from the natural path of the groove in the blade, this positively locks the blade and button in place when there is pressure on the blade in either direction. Some light pressure on the top of the blade in either direction will free the button up and it will be able to be pressed easily. The tighter you have the blade pressure between the bolt assembly, the more precise you will need to be with the blade position to press the button with ease.
