There is nothing quite like the glow and warmth of a fire in camp after a long day of hiking. At the same time, the burden required to manually break down decent sized wood to feed the fire can be tiresome and sometimes impossible. But no one wants to carry a heavy saw all day just to use it in the evening to cut some wood. We designed the Uki Bucksaw to be as light and small as possible while still housing a 12″ blade so it isn’t a burden in your pack all day when not in use.

Uki Folding Buck Saw
This is the gold standard for ultralighter’s in for the backcountry. Designed, engineered, and manufactured specifically for those looking to cut weight from their packs without sacrificing one of the most popular items for backcountry campers – a buck saw. Weighing in at 5.85 ounces and housing a full 12″ blade, this little device folds up and disappears into your pack but still packs enough punch to process a pile of wood for your evening fires in the wilderness. The folding design allows the blade to be stored and locked inside the handle, protecting any items nearby. The Uki Folding Bucksaw includes a All Purpose blade. Assembly is simple and straight forward as shown in the video.

Our ultralight sheaths are made of 6oz/yd dyneema composite fabric, and feature a closure on the front side and a daisy chain on the back side for attaching to various items such as a pack or belt.

Spare “All Purpose” Blade
 Ideal for anything you can find in the backcountry from dry hardwoods to green wood. Comes with raker teeth, hardpoint finished, and rust inhibiting coating.  This is the blade that is included in the purchase of the Uki Saw and is ideal for almost all users.

Spare “Fine” Blade
This specialty blade has fine teeth, designed for pruning and seasoned wood. Comes with straight tooth form, hardpoint finished, and rust inhibiting coating. It has successfully been used for breaking down some bones after a hunt but is generally more course that a true bone saw.
