CUBEN FIBER / MOMENTUM 90 BIVY

I think it is fairly obvious why I made this bivy, isn't it???...no one else makes one! The bottom and hood is Cuben Fiber. Top shell is blue Momentum 90. Lots of people ask about bugs, but I bring a separate headnet for hiking, so I just wear it while I sleep. You're wondering if I get condensation in the hood? Nope...it's only 12" deep so my breath easily exits through the chest opening, which is really located at my neck. I always use a 1/8" closed cell foam pad so the cuben never actually lies directly on the ground. This allows me to set up camp on any terrain instead of looking for a cushy spot which wouldn't damage the cuben..

Description: The top torso portion of this bivy is made from Mometum 90 which is a waterproof/breathable material. This allows moisture to pass through the material. The bottom portion and hood sections are made from cuben fiber. All 3 pieces are sewn together to form the bivy.

Weight: 2.72 oz (77 grams).

Notes: Anyone can sew a bivy like this for themself. I had my mom make this one and she used a standard sewing machine - nothing fancy. You may want to try on some less expensive material until you get your technique down.
